Whenever I hear "Waiting For A Star To Fall", I think of a certain period of my life when I was living in Marquette, MI. Did you know that Boy Meets Girl (the writers of the song) offered it to Whitney Houston, but she turned it down?

"Beds Are Burning" is another favorite of mine. My girlfriend at the time didn't share my sentiment.

I do not remember any of them. Hopefully, they were before my time, or I am losing my mind! :)

Great list! You've got my three favorites lumped together in the middle -- 7, 8 and 9.

Great list. I still love Pearl Jam and when Midnight Oil released that hit I overplayed it all the time!

I haven't heard of most of those, but it's a great list idea! I'm just not educated enough on music I guess.

Is it bad that I had to immediately stop and listen to Sweet Freedom?

Michael McDonald was a big time crush based solely on how he sounded. I didn't even know you could have a "voice crush" before him. LOL

Great Flashback List!

Haven't thought of "Waiting for a Star to Fall" in forever! You really brought back some memories here.

Home Taping is Killing Music!
...Hold on a minute, it didn't did it?

impworks said...

Well they did tax blank tapes and give the record industry the cash to make up for home taping so technically all my tapes are legit :-)

And slowly but surely I'm buying the CDs of a lot of the artists. Its taken me 15-20 years to get round to it but better late than never.

ellen b said...

Oh dear I only recognize a couple of those names...

damozel said...

I remember some of those---Bob Marley, Midnight Oil, and the Starship. I'm from the Seventies, though---so these are a bit after my time!

We have some gorgeous photos this week by a very talented photographer.
